Failure Was Just the Draft: Rock Bottom New Foundation
There Is a Solution to Global Warming: Renaissance 2.0. - Spread the Word, We Can Save Our World
What to Do When the World Throws You a Curveball?
Sometimes, when you hope for a straight ball to lift you from the doldrums, you get a curved one, knocking down a pillar supporting your positivity.
The same thing happened when I watched the press conference in the Oval Office. I was cautiously optimistic about the outcome of the talks, hoping that the world would regain its dignity and reaffirm personal freedom.
I was shocked when the wannabe dictator, the so-called leader of the free world, with his uncultured sidekick, undignifiedly ambushed their guest, the son and leader of the nation that for the past three years sacrificed their sons and daughters to defend those freedoms from a ruthless dictator that attacked their country.
Those two ethical midgets tried humiliating the moral colossus and throwing him to the dogs. It didn't work. However, they still had arrogance and power.
I watched in disbelief our world sliding into gutters of arrogance and cruelty, and the thin tread of positivity holding my emotions adrift broke, and my world crashed into helplessness.
I always tried to keep at least some reserve of emotional strength, but this time there was not enough. The string of events exhausted my energy, deepening my reserve into the red. I didn't hit bottom but crushed through the floor into the chasm.
It was dark! Not a single ray of light, usually an anchor to pull myself out, broke through. It seemed unlikely that I would lift myself out, and I was unsure if I wanted to. I wasn't sure I wanted to return to the world where the decency was falling apart. The rabid dogs taking over would erase the last remnants of freedom.
I suddenly realised these people were small men who used arrogance to make them look big. They fed on the fear and desperation they created. I remembered that even so, I fought them in my youth, and the sin of pride broke through, allowing the ray of light to shine through the gap. It triggered the thought that I had to fight again; that was the last thing I wanted.
The Agony of an Idea Waiting for Its Time
I was tired!
Nevertheless, I pulled myself up to the bottom to reassess my situation.
I was still stuck.
When I started with Renaissance 2.0, I had a lot of passion for improving the future and energy driven by enthusiasm.
I also had a plan.
It was a good plan, so I was convinced and still am. It was a simple plan and didn't require much to create a bright future and an exciting and prosperous life.
Who wouldn't subscribe to it?
We need lots of subscriptions!
Okay, I knew it would take time and wouldn't be so easy to reach and convince a sufficient number of the people needed to stop global warming – multitudes of people.
However, I thought that once people see that it is possible to stop global warming without too much atonement for our sins, they should avoid sliding into hell. They would go for it.
I would get a lot of support, or so I thought.
Now, I was stuck at the emotional bottom!
I have conceptually designed a Global Project Plan to transform the economy from a carbon-based to an environmental economy. It would compensate for the carbon-based economy's employment decline and grow vigorously. Its growth would rejuvenate the environment and enrich participants.
There were no limitations or problems of running out of growth. There was a lot of work to do to create a paradise with clean air and water.
I have taken into account technological breakthroughs, reskilling people who lose their jobs due to the fast advancement in technology, and put together a mini book in sixteen sections as a guide to entrepreneurship so that people without jobs could, without much time and effort, get a holistic idea of requirements, and achieve business success.
At the end of each section, I have added environmental benefits that knowledge from that section could be applied to the environment in daily life, stitching it together as a sub-mini book.
Then I found Substack. I was guided, I thought. It was a fantastic platform where I would publish the plan concept and gradually generate sufficient income to develop the plan further.
I did everything according to the plan. As my Project was called, I published articles explaining how Renaissance 2.0 (R2.0) could help effect change, what main issues we must address, and how.
I believed this approach would get traction because we are all in the same pot, but it didn't.
I was failing to understand the world.
What are they thinking about?
What is more important in people's life than that life - survival?
If I could find out, it would lift my spirits. I would have another avenue to try.
My spirits were down. Even a glass of Cabernet didn't taste as good as it used to.
I was facing the fork in the road and didn't know which road to take.
Uncertainty was a killer of motivation.
How Do You Save a World That Won’t Save Itself?
When my spirit started approaching the bottom again, I felt the vibe. It was the Kilimanjaro! I rebounded from the bottom and found myself on the edge of the Mountain again. I needed this. If nothing else, I would have a rim to cry on.
"I see you are in trouble again," the voice boomed.
"Yes, I am, in a bad one."
Okay, what's the trouble?"
"I don't understand the people," I blurted
"I have been here for hundreds of thousands of years, saw wars and peace, empires rising and falling, droughts killing thousands of inhabitants of steppes and then floods washing all signs of the tragedy away, and I still don't understand people."
"I am sure there is a solution. Isn't that why I am here."
"Where there is the problem, there is always a solution; the two are inextricably linked. Why do you want to understand people?"
"Maybe if I understand, I will start carrying again. I am not in very good shape, and something must change; otherwise, things will not go well."
"Do I hear the dose of desperation?"
"You might have. My feelings are in turmoil and that is no way to be. I have to find the way out and order my thoughts again. I have a project requiring a clear head and a strong and stable spirit. That is, if you can help me understand, but you said that you don't understand people, you cannot help me."
"I didn't say that, but you are approaching the problem from the wrong premise."
"What do you mean?"
"Are you here to find out about anybody in particular?" I detected a smirk at the edge of the voice.
"No, it was about society."
There was something different about the Mountain today. It seemed to be uncharacteristically chatty.
"I don't think so. You are here because of yourself. I picked up intense distress waves."
Do I have to be distressed for you to appear in my mind?"
"Yes, distressed or elated – those emotions appear in times of change. That's when you can use help."
"So, how come you don't understand humanity?"
"Let me explain something to you. Each individual is unique and as complex as the universe; how could you even attempt to understand one, never mind eight billion? Permutations are infinite. The universe has no limitations.
"There is knowledge immensely deeper than mine, who creates spirit. It created me, too."
That took me aback; in my mind, the Mountain was the ultimate source of wisdom, and I couldn't imagine anything more profound.
"But you are hundreds of thousands of years old; you said it yourself, and I thought you knew everything."
"But the universe is infinitely older than me, billions or even trillions of years older. There is no end."
I wasn't going to get into that. It was enough that JWST turned my universe upside down.
"I understand that now, but we are a human species and must have common characteristics. That's what makes us species. We must have instincts that ensure the survival of species. Why couldn't people rally around this insight and individually use all that personal complexity to solve the problem?"
"Yes, they could, but did you ever think that at these times, somebody has to reveal that insight to them and establish that humanity wants to be saved."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that when you fell into the hole of despair, you didn't know if you wanted to return. Maybe subconsciously, people sense the disaster and don't want to face it. When they see the complexity of issues, they cannot find the solution. Maybe they gave up.
The thought shocked me. I couldn't understand that anybody would give up on our world. Then, again, the Mountain reminded me that I was doubtful about returning.
A Lone Battle in a Struggle for Motivation
I tried to understand myself then and then understand why the Mountain asked me if I had come for an understanding of society.
"How do you know what I felt in the abyss?"
There was a brief pause, and then the Mountain answered: "I got the vibe."
There was some mystery here. I let it pass.
You said that problem and solution are inextricably linked, meaning every problem has a solution.
"That's right."
"Then we must find the solution."
"Well, find it."
"But I cannot do it alone; I tried."
"Try again."
"I cannot. I have no sufficient energy or motivation to do it again."
"Why don't you give it up?
"You cannot do it. You cannot convince people to improve the environment. We are starting to circle here, and I think you should take my advice and give it up. I am here to guide you but I am not sure you appreciate it."
"Please, don't threaten me if you don't like something I say. This is not the Oval Office."
"Okay, but will you stop explaining why you cannot do this or that? By the way, your Oval Office crowd is cooky."
"That has nothing to do with me. I live at the bottom of Africa.
"It has nothing to do with you, you said. What about Drill Baby Drill?"
"You are well informed!"
"I hold my ear to the ground, and, as I told you, I pick up waves of distress, and recently, there have been many."
“Okay, so I am thinking about a self-organising grassroots movement where people will find the Project in Environmental Economy and raise the necessary resources to pay for their time and equipment.
“Those groups would choose their leaders, and they would connect to other groups, creating networks and spreading the acquired knowledge. The movement could self-generate growth fuelled by its successes. This is how the movement will grow and sweep the world with a common objective - survival."
"You do have management and leadership experience. Don't you?"
“Yes, I have tutored many people who achieved success beyond their self-generated vision of their abilities. The key to additional capacity is within us, but we have to liberate it."
"Are you teaching me now?" The Mountain was trying to be humorous.
"Sorry!"
The Journey Begins While the World Watches
"How did you get people to break through their perceived self-limitation?"
"I brought them there, and when they realised that right in front of them was the limitation obstructing their journey, they broke through. Acquired knowledge gave them the confidence to break through further limitations. As confidence provided by knowledge grows, so does a person's ability to overcome obstruction.
"I would organise people around the Project, motivate them to accept hardly achievable milestones, and then leave them to find the way; there was always a bonus for meeting challenging targets.
"I guided them to ignore their perceived limitations until a globe started shining. Once it does, extinguishing is impossible; it just grows brighter.
"In the beginning, they are excited and appreciate the insights they have received until they realise they have done it all themselves, and then they are on their way.
"This made me realise there is so much unrealised power within humanity that everything is possible; even by using half human capacity and by using it entirely, we could create miracles.
“It was challenging to create possibilities and look for the solutions behind prevailing thoughts to ease or yank them out of the depths of their psyche, dependent on circumstances. A continuing flow of knowledge in an environment of heightened senses keeps things moving."
"And you give them that knowledge?"
"Yes, I did, as I had experience and extensive general knowledge. I read a lot. I also enjoyed watching people succeed and knowing I played a part in it."
"So why don't you do it again? You have even more experience now?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, you want to achieve mitigation of global warming, put the team together, motivate them and start the project."
"What project?"
"Is that a trick question? I thought you wanted to mitigate and reverse global warming to preindustrial levels, or am I wrong?"
"No, you are not wrong, but are you serious?"
"Yes, I am. You have managed projects before. Why cannot you do it again?"
Something has gone cooky with the Mountain, or my understanding. Or did my wavering spirit make me lose vision - the guiding light and an anchor? Was it because I lived in intellectual negativity or scepticism about the Project's potential success?
There are challenging moments in life when it is hard to look up and see the way forward, as it was for me to imagine the abilities I needed to put together the Project. I knew the Project was essential for the survival of humankind.
It was such simple math to see that if the growing temperature isn't stopped, it will grow beyond our ability to live.
Venus's temperature is about 450 degrees Celsius. Many metals such as Tin, Lithium, Polonium and others melt at this point. It would be pointless to take air-conditioning to Venus.
There is no more important project than one that changes the trajectory of humanity.
"I was managing projects that needed hundreds or thousands of people. What we are talking about here ultimately requires millions of people. It is not possible for me or any other individual to put together and manage this kind of undertaking, and on top of it, I don’t have resources."
"Did you manage projects which you did alone?"
"No, I had a project management team."
"There you go! Put another one together. The project is a project. This one is just bigger than others."
"For starters, I have been out of project management business for a long time and don't know any project management people. The second thing is I did projects that paid me for the work so I could pay people for their work."
"There is an easy solution to your problem."
"What is it," I asked, full of hope. I knew in its wisdom the Mountain would lead me to a solution.
"Give it up."
I was stunned.
"You want me to give it up?" I asked in disbelief. "I thought you would give me the solution."
"I just did."
"That is not the solution I want."
Well, you looked for the solution, and based on our conversation, I think it is right for you."
"Why do you say that?"
"Your state of mind will get nowhere. You will continue feeling sorry for yourself, prolonging your misery."
"No, I won't do it. There is a chance, no matter how small. I will achieve something."
"Okay, do it."
"You are a great help!"
"Sorry, I am not going to do the job. You are."
"You are getting conceited again."
"I will ignore that. Don't you think you could create the team structure you need, software solutions to make the process flow efficient, and some basic skills specifications of the project team you need? You have enough experience to do that. Don't you?"
"I have."
"Well, that is the beginning. Did you hear the saying that the starts stop most people? Don't let it happen to you!"
And then, I was alone.
It didn't seem that I learned a lot this time.
What the Mountain implied is that I didn't understand myself, and my translation is that if I knew myself, I would, because of commonalities, understand other people.
There was another thing it made clear.
I had to start.
I have to redact hundreds of pages to a short and motivating concept in a brief and abridged conceptual and philosophical vision of the Global Project Plan.
We have everything: technology, exponentially increasing knowledge and immense wealth of humanity.
The Project can be done.
Back to the drawing board!
But first, I must delve into myself to find the solution.
The journey is about to start - live.
