You Have a Dream! What Now? Part 4: On the Brink of the Voyage
You Have a Dream is the first of sixteen chapters of StartUp Space and explores ways to magnify human capabilities.
Stepping Past Menacing 'What Ifs'
Once you have fortified your intellect with aspirations of greatness, it is time for some tangible strides. Hesitation may still linger at the onset of this thrilling odyssey. A shadow of doubt still rends your confidence in your ability to accomplish the task, the spectre of failure in your mind diluting your resolve.
These doubts are familiar as we habitually harbour fear of the unknown. Most people embarking on a life-changing venture struggle with these feelings. The consequences of failure burden their minds. The weight of "what if" is a heavy load many bear as they stand on the threshold of change, teetering between the comfort of the known and the potential of the unknown.
Yet, as you engage the levers of your mind, setting the cogs of change into motion, action becomes your scythe, cutting through the thicket of uncertainty. Each step, resolved issue, and surmounted challenge scatter the mists of doubt clouding your horizon. The determination to overcome any hurdles will further dissipate your doubts. The vision of yourself standing on the top of your structure is your compass that will keep you moving in the right direction, even if you are forced to detour occasionally.
Unity of Dreams and Determination
Action emerges as the potent antidote to clear worries and doubts out of your head. When your mind is engrossed in positive action, it has little room to dwell on the possibilities of failure. Engage fully in the steps that lead to your dream and make each motion a stroke painting over the canvas of scepticism.
In this journey, remember that the detours and hurdles are not hindrances but stepping stones, each forcing you to reinforce the foundation before the next leap forward. The blueprint of your success is ingrained in the effort of overcoming the resilience to press on, and the courage to act despite the intimation of doubt.
The act of doing, moving, and creating will be your guiding force, propelling you beyond the confines of fear and into the realms where dreams and reality converge.
Tapping Untapped Energy of Survival
It is vital to realise that within us lies a dormant energy, a hibernating capacity we seldom acknowledge or are even aware of. In moments of crisis or under immense stress, survival instinct activates this hidden force, granting us the power to achieve inconceivable feats far beyond our perceived capabilities.
Such was the case for Angela Cavallo, who, in a surge of maternal love, lifted a 1964 Chevrolet Impala in 1982 high enough and long enough for two neighbours to pull her son Tony from beneath the vehicle. This extraordinary display of what is known as hysterical strength is a testament to the untapped might within us all.
None of us is wholly aware of latent powers lurking in various depths of our minds. The deeper they lie, the more potent they are. Our psyche resembles an inverted cone, with the most profound abilities in its deepest reaches. Therefore, the further we push our limits, the deeper we can reach and tap into the fountain of previously untouched superpowers.
The logical assumption is that the amplification of our abilities is directly proportional to the degree to which we challenge our limits. The closer to the point of the cone we reach, the greater the force we liberate.
The Quantum Mechanics of Inner Energy
The theoretical basis of quantum mechanics, the pillar of modern physics, hints at how this phenomenon works. The theory explains the nature and behaviour of matter and energy on the atomic and subatomic levels. While the intricacies of this theory perplexed even Einstein, its core message is clear: energy's release responds dynamically to environmental demands, just as our inner strength responds to life's challenges.
German physicist Max Planck, the architect of quantum theory, Max Planck, who presented it in 1900 to the German Physical Society, was trying to determine why the radiation from a glowing body changes its colour from red to orange and finally to blue as its temperature rises. He concluded that energy existed in discrete packets or quanta in which it was absorbed or released, shifting from one form to another. The theory also posits that photons of light can exist in a state of wave or matter.
The aspect of the theory that is relevant to our context is that the format and quantity of energy released depend on the environment's demand. Our mind responds to a crisis similarly when pushing the limits increases our capacity, unleashing bursts of latent energy when prompted by the demands of our lives. The more pressure we are under, the more power it releases. If we push far enough, we might even unearth a genius hidden deep within.
Fanning Embers of Brilliance
Imagine the brain as a vast network: a hundred billion neurons interwoven with a several hundred trillion synapses. The brain's grey matter processes information, while white matter conducts information between grey matter areas and along neural pathways of our nervous system.
White is often information super-highway with light traffic, but when stimulated, this network can accelerate, turning into a bustling conduit of rapid thought, awakening unanticipated talents within us. This cerebral awakening can be the birthplace of genius, emerging from the depths when we dare to push beyond our perceived limits.
